Championship weekend!

On Sunday, April 26th, Team Iparralde competed in the Primevère Montoise, the departmental championship race.

The steep roads of the Landes region suited Bastian, who broke away from the peloton to secure a fantastic 4th place, earning him the Pyrénées-Atlantiques Champion's jersey!

The rest of the team finished in the main peloton.

An exceptional weekend!

This weekend got off to a flying start for the Team!

On Friday evening, Bastian learned he had been selected for the French national team to compete the very next day in the UCI Trofeo Victor Cabedo, a World Cup event in Onda, Spain! A first for Team Iparralde!

Our competitor rose to the occasion! He made the right breakaway and stayed with it! He finished in 4th place, allowing the French team to finish as the top team!

Without a doubt, he proved his worth to the national team!

Meanwhile, the rest of the Team took part in the demanding Zegama race, where four of our riders finished in a decimated peloton.

Sunday was the day for redemption to Salies de Bearn Indeed! After a blistering start from Iban and Alban, the other members of Team Iparralde controlled the race from the back, allowing the two breakaway riders to gain as much time as possible.

This allowed Alban to showcase his time-trialing prowess and win by two minutes!

This Sunday, April 12th, Team Iparralde participated in the Tour du Labourd, a race organized by Aviron Bayonnais, starting in Cambo-les-Bains and finishing at the summit of the Col de Lizzarieta on the border with Navarre.

In a 97km race featuring a series of climbs and two mountain passes, our time trial specialist, Iban Vergez-Thèze, broke away solo for most of the race.

He was joined by our second-year junior, Hugo Cardonne, in the final, very steep kilometers.

The two riders then joined forces to finish the climb of the last difficulty, the Col de Lizzarieta. The duo achieved their first Top 5 finish of the season, with Iban taking 4th place and Hugo 5th!

Today, we have a special feature for you!

We're featuring Corentin Millerou, a former driver for the team, who's now honing his skills in a new discipline: motorsport!

He's competing this weekend in the 4 Hours of Magny-Cours in the Team of Course Competition's Mitjet 2L.

But he's not stopping there! His racing schedule will undoubtedly help him improve. He will be competing this season in the following circuits:

🇨🇵 4H Ledenon  May 29-31

🇨🇵 4H Dijon June 26-28

🇨🇵 4H Val de Vienne September 4-6

🇧🇪 4H Spa-Francorchamps October 2-3

🇨🇵 6H Le Mans November 13-15

His obvious downhill skills and precise racing lines will undoubtedly make him one of the most talented race car drivers!

All the staff and drivers wish you the best, Corentin!

Easter Weekend!

On Saturday, April 4th, six of our juniors participated in the Klasika Amorebieta, a Spanish national race with 200 riders at the start!

After great teamwork, Bastian finished in 8th place, and Pierre, a first-year junior, achieved his first Top 15 finish of the season, placing 14th! We congratulate him on his determination and focus! All our riders completed the race.

On Sunday, April 5th, everyone was together for the Agurain race! The previous day's race took its toll on some, which is good training for the rest of the season.

Bastian, for his part, finished in 3rd place after a challenging sprint!

On Sunday, March 29th, Team Iparralde was present at the start of the Azpeitia race in a peloton of 200 riders!

After a briefing from Sports Director Vincent Vierge, our riders followed his instructions to the letter!

A breakaway by Alban, Iban, and Pierre formed for half the race to provide support for the rest of the team, composed of Hugo, Anthony, Mattin, and Bastian!

Mattin, our sprinter, managed to position Bastian perfectly to begin the 4km climb.

The result: Bastian crossed the finish line alone and secured his 4th victory of the season!

                       Race Weekend!

This Sunday, March 22nd, our riders were competing on two fronts: firstly, at the La Bernaudeau Junior International race in Vendée, where Mattin, Hugo, Bastian, Pierre, and Iban were present. Secondly, at the Nay race, where Jules and Thibault were back together under a beautiful sun, unlike last weekend!

In Vendée, before the start, a Basque alliance was formed with the GT/Tolosa Danena team, which our riders know well! A good try!

Most of the team was unlucky, suffering mechanical problems, while Pierre and Bastian finished this great race brilliantly, with Bastian securing a fine 18th place. He was indeed active and tried to break away several times, unfortunately not followed by other members of the peloton.

We congratulate Pierre, a first-year junior, for managing to hold his own in his first UCI race!

Many thanks again to Toyota for lending us the extra truck, which was ideal for our riders and staff! We also thank the organizing committee of La Bernaudeau Junior for their invitation, as well as all our partners who truly contribute to making Team Iparralde Fundacion Euskadi a team to be reckoned with!

La Bernaudeau International Race!

This Sunday, March 22nd, Team Iparralde will participate in the first of three international races on its calendar!

We are honored to have been selected for the first time for this renowned race on the international junior calendar.

We will be competing against two Basque teams from Spain, well-known to our riders!

We would like to warmly thank the La Bernaudeau organizing committee, as well as all our partners, without whom this trip would be much more difficult.

France/Spain Race Weekend!

A busy weekend for Team Iparralde! Two different venues, two very different atmospheres!

While two of our riders, Pierre and Alban, were competing in the French Junior National Championship in Marmande under sunny skies and spring-like temperatures, the rest of the team raced in Zumaia in the Spanish Basque Country in torrential rain and temperatures barely reaching 7°C!

In France on Saturday, Pierre and Alban experienced the Junior National level for the first time, with a great breakaway and finishing in the peloton.

In the Spanish Basque Country, thanks to his teammates and some truly outstanding teamwork, Bastian took the win after a hard-fought sprint!

But on Sunday, Iban and Bastian bravely faced the same weather conditions as the day before, competing in the Spanish Junior National Championship in Alsasua, Navarre! The duo, after a challenging race, finished the weekend in style, with Bastian taking the victory!

We would like to thank the runners for their commitment, effort, tenacity, and camaraderie, which undoubtedly make a team strong!

We would also like to extend a special thank you to Pette Elisseix, the Team Iparralde coach since 2020. His training programs, attentiveness, kindness, and adaptability have allowed all our runners to improve, discover their abilities, surprise themselves, and develop their competitive potential.

Aupa Iparralde!

This weekend, March 7th and 8th, our riders competed on both sides of the border!

On Saturday, part of the team was in Mutriku in a peloton of 200 cyclists! Bastian finished just off the podium but was still awarded  the Mountains prize!

On Sunday, in the Bayonne-Mouguerre classic, open to the Open category, our riders all competed in France for the first time, wearing the Team colors!

Our riders demonstrated the attacking spirit that characterizes the team throughout the race.

They helped Bastian finish 5th overall and also 1st Junior! Also worth noting is Mattin's in the sprint, well set up by all his teammates!

opening of the season

On Sunday, March 1st, our junior riders competed in the first race of our 2026 calendar in Eibar, Gipuzkoa.

Indeed, after winter training, the anticipation was palpable!

After a solo breakaway, Bastian finished his race in spectacular fashion with a victory! He also won the mountain price.

The rest of the team also performed admirably, as their commitment and results earned them the Best Team award!

The season is officially underway, and there's no doubt more victories are on the horizon!

A look back at the Team 2026 presentation day

Saturday, January 24th was a busy day for the entire Team!

Indeed, in the morning, a social ride was organized, departing from the Toyota Groupe Clim dealership, which provided breakfast for the approximately fifty cycling enthusiasts who participated. Ronan Augé, a professional cyclist with the Unibet Rose Rockets team, led the first group. Serge Bodin and Mickaël Hinault, representatives of the Souffles d'Espoir association, which we support, also took part in the ride.

After a well-deserved shower, we shared a meal at the Garage des Pyrénées bar in Ustaritz to spend some time together. Then came the evening of the 2026 team presentation!

Our rider, Johane Larre, has decided to leave the team to focus on his studies and his other passion, bertsolaritza (Basque improvisational poetry). He gave us a moving performance, for which he received a warm round of applause from everyone present! He remains very involved with the team, however, as he has become the Basque language translator for our social media, working alongside Lucile Garcia, the team's Community Manager.

Our patron, Patxi Villa, honored us with his presence throughout the evening; a huge thank you to him for his kindness and availability! Representatives from Gipuzkoa, such as Abraham Olano, Santi Osoro, and Jon Auzmendi, also graced us with their presence.

Romain Sicard, sporting director of Team Total Energies, former sporting director of Team Iparralde, Pablo Urtasun, sporting director of the professional team Euskaltel, and many French champions also came to wish us a great season.

We warmly thank everyone who came to attend this event, for which our entire team works hard to offer you a pleasant experience!

The time has come to present the Team Iparralde 2026 roster!

Our riders are ready to kick off this season with a bang! This weekend promises to be a sporty one for them! The festivities begin with a Social Ride organized by the club and our partner Toyota Group Clim on Saturday morning, bringing together cycling enthusiasts from the region, followed by the official team presentation on Saturday evening!

This is a great opportunity to thank our partners, our partner clubs, the riders' parents, representatives of the Basque federations, and our friends!

We would like to extend our warmest thanks to our rider Johane, whose competitive cycling career ends here as he wishes to dedicate himself to his studies, which we have no doubt will be brilliant! He will, however, continue the Iparralde adventure in his own way by becoming our official Basque translator! Thank you, Johane!

On this final weekend of team training before the official presentation of the 2026 squad, our junior players were able to begin their preparations for the new season. Everyone could see the progress they've made since the end of last season: perseverance, hard work, and determination always pay off! Furthermore, our partner, CBL Prod, filmed the team presentation! Thank you to them!

Esteban Quercy, former rider of Iparralde team, a third-year STAPS (Sports Science) student and trainee coach, joined us for the session with our young cyclists.

A huge surprise also joined us: our 2026 godfather, Patxi Vila, Sports Director of Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe, came to ride with our team! A big thank you to him!

This weekend our riders gathered for their second team training session, during which the first tests were carried out on the Col d'Ispéguy. They all made significant progress!

On Friday evening, during the general meeting of our partner club, Vélo Club Tarnos, our rider Bastian was recognized for his achievements throughout the year. He received an award from Romain Sicard, sports director of Team Total Energies! Congratulations, Bastian!
